Diploma

 

Programme Admission Requirements:

  • Students accepted in the Diploma in Public Health “Epidemiology” Programme must hold a Bachelor Degree in Medicine from an Egyptian University, or any equivalent degree.
  • General Requirements:
    • Students must register for Diploma Programmes at the start of the academic year from 15-31 August.
    • Students must complete a registration application and submit it to the Department, at which they wish to enrol, for approval.
    • Students must complete all required documents and submit them to the Students’ Affairs Department, including: Bachelor certificate, birth certificate, registration application and 4 personal photos.
    • Deadlines for registration for the different courses each semester are: end of 2nd week of Fall or Spring semesters, and end of 1st week of Summer semester.

Master

Programme Admission   Requirements
In Case of Academic Master Programs:
  • Students accepted in the Academic Master in Public health/Public health sciences Majoring Epidemiology Program must hold a Bachelor Degree in   Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dental, Science or Agriculture from an Egyptian   University with grade “good” at least, or any equivalent degree.
  • Egyptian students with a Bachelor Degree with grade “acceptable” must   obtain a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health Sciences from the HIPH with a   cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.333 / grade C+ or more prior to registration in   the Master Programme. Foreign students can be exempted from this condition.
  • General Requirements:
    • Students must register for Master Programmes at the start of the   academic year from 15-31 August.
    • Students must complete a registration application and submit it to the   Department, at which they wish to enrol, for approval.
    • Students must complete all required documents and submit them to the   Students’ Affairs Department, including: Bachelor certificate, birth   certificate, registration application and 4 personal photos.
    • Deadlines for registration for the different courses each semester   are: end of 2nd week of Fall or Spring semesters, and end of 1st   week of Summer semester.
    • Registration for the Master Thesis is allowed anytime, after   completing the taught courses (or at least 20 credit hours) with a CGPA of   2.333 / grade C+ or more, and after preparation of the thesis   protocol/proposal with the supervising committee. A registration application   for the thesis must be submitted first to the Scientific Department in   question and the Students’ Affairs Department.

 

 

Doctor

 

Programme Admission Requirements:

  • Students accepted in the Doctor in Public Health “Epidemiology” Programme must hold a Master Degree in Public Health “Epidemiology” or an equivalent degree.
  • Students accepted in the Doctor in Public Health Sciences “Epidemiology” Programme must hold a Master Degree in Public Health Sciences “Epidemiology” or an equivalent degree.
  • Students with a Master Degree in a discipline related to “Epidemiology” must obtain a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health or Public Health Sciences in “Epidemiology” from the HIPH with a cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.333 / grade C+ or more prior to registration in the Doctorate Programme. Foreign students can be exempted from the grade condition.
  • Students with a Master Degree in Public Health/ Public Health Sciences in another speciality / concentration must complete 13 credit hours of courses specified for the Postgraduate Diploma Degree in Public Health or Public Health Sciences in “Epidemiology” (departmental compulsory courses) with a cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.333 / grade C+ or more prior to registration in the Doctorate Programme. These courses (13 credit hours) are not counted as part of the credit hours needed for the completion of the Doctorate Programme.
  • Students with a Master Degree in Health Sciences from the HIPH must obtain a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health or Public Health Sciences in “Epidemiology” from the HIPH with a cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.333 / grade C+ or more prior to registration in the Doctorate Programme. They can be exempted from valid courses (course validity is 5 years) similar to those they have passed before, but only up to a limit of 40% of the credit hours for the Postgraduate Diploma Degree (a maximum of 12 credit hours out of the required 32 credit hours). These courses are not counted as part of the credit hours needed for the completion of the Doctorate Programme.
  • General Requirements:
    • Students can register for Doctorate Programmes twice per academic year:
      • from 15-31 August
      • from 10-25 January
    • Students must complete a registration application and submit it to the Department, at which they wish to enrol, for approval.
    • Students must complete all required documents and submit them to the Students’ Affairs Department, including: Bachelor certificate, Master certificate, birth certificate, registration application and 4 personal photos.
    • Deadlines for registration for the different courses each semester are: end of 2nd week of Fall or Spring semesters, and end of 1st week of Summer semester.
    • Registration for the Doctor Thesis is allowed anytime, after completing the taught courses with a CGPA of 2.333 / grade C+ or more, and after preparation of the thesis protocol/proposal with the supervising committee. A registration application for the thesis must be submitted first to the Scientific Department in question and the Students’ Affairs Department. Also, a seminar to present and discuss the thesis protocol / proposal at the Scientific Department in question before registration of thesis is necessary.
